Bets placed on the crypto-platform, an online prediction market, that the Venezuelan president would be no longer in control by the end of January surged in the time leading up to former President Trump announced on January 3rd that the Venezuelan leader had been apprehended.

One account, which registered on the site in December and made four bets, all on the Venezuelan situation, earned over $nearly half a million from a initial bet of $32.5K.

The identity is unknown. The anonymous account had only a cryptographic address for identification.
